Cases of respiratory illness are increasing across Canada including throughout the Lower Mainland. ProSafe continues to follow the direction from the Provincial Health Services Authority. Staying at home and limiting contact with others when you’re sick is one of the best ways to prevent spreading illness in your community.
If you are experiencing flu like symptoms such as a fever or coughing, please do not come to the campus. Stay home until your symptoms are gone (without the use of medicines to alleviate).
Be sure to contact ProSafe before your class and let us know you will not be attending due to illness. Only those who contact ProSafe prior to the start of course will be eligible to reschedule. If you are attending a multi-day course and are ill after the first day contact ProSafe as soon as possible.
- If a participant is seen coughing or sneezing they will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the class. If a participant refuses to wear a mask or is showing signs of a fever or further illness they will be removed from the class.
Hand hygiene will continue to be enforced and sanitizer will remain available.
A brand new CPR pocket mask will be provided to all first aid participants.
ProSafe will ensure there is good use of ventilation when courses are scheduled.
Even if you don’t feel sick, remember to:
Clean your hands often using soap and warm water. Scrub for at least 20 seconds or use alcohol-based hand rub
Cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing. Sneeze or cough into your elbow instead of your hands
Wear a mask anytime to help protect yourself and others from getting and spreading infectious respiratory diseases. This contributes to a community effort to help keep everyone safe.
You should wear a mask if you need to be around other people and have even mild respiratory symptoms, like a cough or sore throat. When possible, you should also stay at home until you no longer have symptoms.
