Course Info
A Flagger, or a Traffic Control Person (TCP), is responsible to provide
safe traffic control for motorists, pedestrians, and workers. ProSafe
offers the official certification program set by the BC Construction
Safety Alliance (BCCSA).
The BCCSA’s course for TCPs consists of classroom & practical training
and is the only program accepted by WorkSafe BC under Section 18 of the
Occupational Health and Safety Regulation for high-risk traffic control.
As of January 1, 2019, the new 1-day ( 8:00 to 4:30) TCP Requalification course is required in order to renew TCP certification. The course is all classroom learning (no road work), and does include a written test. The only alternative to taking the 1-day requalification course is to retake the 2-day TCP course in its entirety.
Prerequisites
- You are eligible to requalify 6 months (180) days prior to your current expiration date
- You have 12 months after your current certification expires to complete a requalification course, however you cannot work as a TCP while your certificate is expired.
