First responders can come from a variety of backgrounds, but most need to have some training in emergency medical services (EMS). This can include programs like Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), or First Responder. These programs often involve classroom education, as well as hands-on experience.
In order to work as a first responder in BC, you’ll need to be certified. At ProSafe Training we offer a First Responder training geared to fire service, rescue team, workplace response team, sports-medicine professionals, lifeguards and ski patrol.
