ProSafe’s Richmond Campus: What It Offers, And How It Contributes To Your Success

Note: As of April 2021, our Richmond location has moved (but not far). Our new address is #280 4320 Viking Way, Richmond BC.

Since 1999, ProSafe First Aid has made it our mission to provide exceptional training programs across the entire Lower Mainland. As Vancouver continues to flourish and grow, we want to ensure that contractors, medical workers, and safety-oriented people receive only the best contemporary safety training that the market can offer. Since the majority of our programs have an in-class dimension, we have opened two campuses – one in Surrey, the other in Abbotsford – to serve a broader portion of our customer base.

With that said, we are excited to announce the opening of our third campus! This location has been strategically chosen to offer convenient services to another sector of the Lower Mainland – Richmond. This facility serves as another option for local enterprises and individuals to partake in essential training. By adding this location to our roster, we plan to reduce travel times and free up classroom space, all while catering to the people and businesses that represent our evolving city.

We have tailored the core offerings available at the Richmond centre so that our courses align with the specific needs and demographics of the surrounding region. At this time, the following programs are available:

FoodSafe

As stated directly on Richmond’s official tourism website ‘Feed your stomach and nourish your soul’. This statement perfectly encapsulates the burgeoning restaurant industry within this sector of the city. Not only does Richmond boast over 800 restaurants, but it has steadily become a hotspot for travellers from around the world to appreciate a stunning variety of cuisines.

Every restaurant needs people to prep, cook, serve, and clean; and every employee needs training. Taking this into consideration, our new campus will be accepting intakes for our FoodSafe Level 1 course. This 8-hour program covers the basics of sanitation, food storage, and more, and is mandatory for most food service workers.

Occupational First Aid (OFA)

As with every other corner of Greater Vancouver, Richmond is constantly expanding and under construction. In order to create safe workspaces that also comply with regulatory rules, it is essential that on-site personnel have their Occupational First Aid (OFA) certifications.

Construction is booming, and as a result, trainees are lining up for weeks in order to obtain their credentials. By establishing this location, we hope to ease these long wait times, while offering a hands-on selection of safety courses.

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

Hazardous products can appear in a surprising number of workplaces. Understanding how to handle these materials is a skill that is sought after by employers and developers, and can certainly help bolster credentials within any construction-oriented environment. The 3 hour WHMIS program available through ProSafe Richmond is a great introductory course for those who may find themselves working around, or with, these temperamental materials.

ProSafe First Aid is excited to grow alongside our beloved city. This campus will assist in the continued expansion of Richmond’s cultural sector and need for development. Whether you are an employer seeking OFA training for your staff, or an aspiring master chef, we have the course that is right for you.
